International Community of Banyakigezi

2015 Convention: Dallas, Texas

Welcome to the City of Dallas, Texas for the 12th Annual International Community of Banyakigezi (ICOB) Convention

July 31 – August 03, 2015

In keeping with ICOB’s aspirations to advance the cultural, social and economic development of the Banyakigezi, we have chosen this year’s theme to be: Towards a Better Tomorrow; Unlocking Kigezi’s Human and Economic Potential.

The main purpose of our annual conventions is to mobilize members and friends towards the socio-economic development of Kigezi, through ICOB’s flagship, the Kigezi Education Fund (KEF). KEF supports vocational, business and technical training of young Banyakigezi. The Convention also provides a forum to promote our culture, network, meet old and new friends, and to celebrate our heritage.

I don’t have a paypal account. How do i register and pay using my visa card? Please advise.

    • ICOB Admin says:

A PayPal account is not required to register. After you finish adding your registration selections to the shopping cart page, press the “check out” button instead of the “check out with PayPal button.” When you are prompted to “Choose a Way to Pay,” select the second option: “Pay with a debit or credit card, or PayPal Credit”

If you run into any trouble, please email or – we will be glad to personally advise! Best regards.

  10. Hello Admin, I would like to attend the convention, I am in Uganda, Kindly advice.
and again I work in the renewable energy sector ( specifically Solar) Can I be given a slot to present on the same and explain opportunities that this sector holds especially in our region ( Kigezi).
    Kindly get back to me,.

    Kind regards,

I have attended 2 powerful ICOB conventions in Kigezi – White Horse Inn and although they were quite educative and interactive, there was some air of political divide. I also once attended a meeting at Statistics House but this one almost turned rowdy, with some heavy weight politicians arguing about division and sub-division of constituencies in order to satisfy selfish desires of those who subscribe to certain political inclination. I wish ICOB organisers could in future send the topics to be discussed prior to the convention dates so that we don’t get excuses of digracing to other topics other than the ones on the agenda.

Also, I currently receive numerous inquiries like what’s ICOB?, purpose, membership eligibility, how to join and so forth…but I don’t have enough info in this regard. Please advise on where to get an ICOB updated profile.

Last but not least, I would rather there is a committee which is in charge of arranging for team/group travel to the 2015 convention than merely informing members to travel individually.

      Warm Regards
